Rock the Vote

I, like many of you, can't wait until November, when I get to go to my little polling place and vote for Obama. Ushering in four glorious years of not hearing George Jr. offend us all with his horrible ideas and poor grasp of the English language.

But here's a little something to scratch that voting itch in the meantime.

Etsy's holding a little contest,

and DamestarBaby has made it to the finals in three categories!

Click the links to vote for us, and when you do, you'll be entered to win a $350 Etsy shopping spree.

Hopefully we'll all win!

Our Jewel Beetle is in the Eco-Friendly category: Click Here to Vote!

The Cabbage Rose Cap is in Accessories: Click Here to Vote!

The Hand-Stitched Guitar Tank rocks in the Clothing category: Click Here to Vote!

And don't forget to vote in November, too.

Farmers

Kid's clothes may not be the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of a Farmer's Market. We weren't too sure at first, either. It turns out, however, that we and the St. Helena Farmer's Market have grown quite fond of each other.
For us, it's a peaceful morning sans kids, and a regular source of encouragement. For them, it's a splash of funk and colorful style to cute up the kids who come by. Oh, and we make out pretty well, too.
Plus, there are the occasional brushes with greatness, our Valley being the hot spot that it is. So far, we've been visited by Nancy Pelosi (whose grandson is now the proud owner of a Partly Cloudy Tee), Michael Chiarello, Kate Spade, and most recently, the stunningly casual Natalie Portman. The latter saw our booth from across the way, walked over with her Yorkie and crew, and said, "Oh, this is, like, beyond."

So, if you find yourselves in St. Helena on a Friday morning, come on by. We'll start your weekend off right.

Growing Pleasure

Since we finally feel like a real business, we've decided to expand our cooperative from a duet to a trio.

I'm not sure how we've managed to make it this far with only four hands working, but we'd like to do more, which requires more hands. One can only sew so fast, after all, and even less fast when there are kids and dogs and rabbits and parks and books and meals to attend to.

Sooo, without further ado, we welcome Kari on board the DamestarBaby train. Her name may not rhyme with ours, but it's a seamless fit otherwise. A new male baby model, six hands a-sewing, three heads together (FIVE GOLDEN RINGS!), it all adds up to more amazing clothes for more amazing kids and new amazing designs to watch for.

This train is bound for glory.

Words of Love

will win us every time. One of our satisfied customers dropped us a line the other day, and it's just too sweet not to share:

My brother gave my son both of these shirts as a gift, and we LOVE them. They bring lots of compliments, and my son ADORES pointing at his belly/chest to show off the designs. He is 13 months and has the cute little toddler pot belly...so the designs definitely get showcased on him. Thanks for making our day to day lives in San Antonio, Texas more exciting with your designs!

ps. the bug tank top is our go-to shirt when he refuses to cooperate with getting dressed in the crazy, busy morning.

I'm not a religious gal, but can I get an "Amen!"

I mean, as much as we market to moms and benevolent uncles (because babies don't usually write the checks), we're really trying to make clothes kids love to wear. They want it to go on easy and look cool. To them. They want to dress up and rock out, but they want to be comfortable. We've got you covered, kids. Now go grab mommy's wallet...
